Michelle Mejaski

Michelle is the very proud owner of Gotta Dance Studio and Company. Michelle and her husband, Mike moved to Oregon from Indianapolis, Indiana where she has studied dance since age four at Dixon Dance Studio, On Your Toes Studio and at Ball State University.

Since moving to Bend, she has choreographed for most of the local schools and theaters.  Her choreography and stage credits include: Grease, FootLoose, The Rocky Horror Show, GodSpell, Singing in the Rain, A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors, Cinderella, Annie, Beauty & the Beast, LaCage aux Folles, AIDA, and Once Upon a Mattress to name just a few!

Charlene Weirup

Charlene Weirup is the Acro Dance Instructor here at Gotta Dance and is a member of  USA Gymnastics and is safety certified.

Charlene began her journey of being an instructor through many different life experiences. Living in a small coast town most of her life, she began her love of gymnastics at age 5. In high school, she was a high level sprinter and a member of her dance team for 4 years. This lead to her coaching the team for a year.

Brandi Nichols

Brandi started dancing at Dance & All That Jazz (DAATJ) in Newport, Oregon at age 7. Her dancing career started in tap, but progressed to jazz and ballet shortly thereafter. While at DAATJ, she became a "TJ Hoofer", and studied under master dancers J.T. Horenstein and Bill Prudich. She attended several L.A. Dance Force (LADF) conventions in Washington, which lead to a showcase piece, and a silver medal for Tap 4's advanced tap number. She then received the privilege to teach at DAATJ as a student instructor. After high school, she ventured from Australia to Europe.

Holly Kupetz

Holly began dancing at the age of 3. Over the past 20 years, she has trained in all styles of dance: tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, lyrical, pas de deux, and contemporary.  Miss Holly began as a student, then became a Company member at the Terpsichorean Studio here in Bend.  She later became an instructor, then the Company director at Terpsichorean.  In 2005, Holly started teaching at Gotta Dance where she helped to develop Gotta Dance's competition classes.  She instructed classes in tap, all styles of jazz, and ballet for six years at GDSC.

Erin

Erin grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona and started dancing at the age of six at an Academy affiliated with the Museum of Northern Arizona. She trained with founder Maureen Price as well as her teaching partner, Gail Reed.

In conjunction with her ballet training, Erin competed nationally and internationally in ice dancing. Her summers were spent training in Aspen, Colorado Springs or Lake Arrowhead with Jojo Starbucks, Brian Cousins, Frank Carroll and Scott Hamilton. Erin was invited to train at the Ice Castles Olympic Training Center in Lake Arrowhead, CA at the age of 14. She moved there to focus on her dance partnership and train with amazing coaches and athletes.

Ashley Gaona

Ashley is a Bend native.  She is a graduate of BHS and majored in music at COCC.  She began dancing at Gotta Dance in 2001 at age 14 and began teahing hip hop in 2004.  Since then, she has trained with dance great such as: Poppin' Pete, Mr. Wiggles, Dave Scott, Tony Testa, and Nappy Tabs.  Ashely is an award winning hip hop dancer/choreographer who has attended and competed at Monsters of Hip Hop, HollyWood Vibe and NRG conventions.  She has performed locally with The Harelm Globe-Trotters, Roller Derby Girls, and Dancing with the Stars.  She has a natural abilty to teach and a passion for dance that shines through!

Dee Dee Burzynski

Dee Dee Burzynski joins the Gotta Dance Studio with a well-rounded and prestigious dance resume. She began her dance training at the age of 8 with Chitwood Studio of Dance in Roseburg, Oregon, where she studied classical ballet. She continued her professional training with Pacific Northwest Ballet; Keith Martin Ballet; San Francisco Ballet; and Marin Ballet. Dee Dee has been an instructor in Ballet, Pointe, Variations, and Pas de Deux for the past 18 years. Several of her students have been accepted by professional ballet training programs: Pacific North West Ballet, Joffrey, Anaheim Ballet & Oregon Ballet Theatre. She is also an asset as a regional award winning competition choreographer.

Stuart Poindexter

Stuart found his passion for dance in high school where he was the first male dancer on the Bend High Dance Team.  He started assisting at Gotta Dance at age 17 and began teaching summer workshops and classes after graduating high school at both Gotta Dance and Urban Pointe.   He then attended Oregon State University where he continued teaching and training in Corvallis.

Along with hip hop and contemporary, Stuart is also a jazz and musical theater dancer.  Stuart choreographed for The Tower Follies and was the  assistant choreographer for Cat Call's production of Chicago.  Stuart was in the dance ensemble for Cat Calls productions of Chicago and The Producers at The Tower Theater.

Kelly Sullins

Kelly was born in Baltimore, Maryland and lived there until moving to Bend in 2005.  She began dancing at the ripe old age of 2 ½ years old and has hardly stopped.  Initially trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Lyrical, Kelly began teaching at age 14.  She’s competed in and choreographed for numerous dance competitions across the country, bringing home multiple platinum, 1st place, and other awards.

She has performed in numerous shows and was chosen to perform on local television.  Her teaching experience includes studio classes, competition choreography, high school dance team and theater productions. As well as taking at numerous dance conventions from the east to west coast. Her passion for dance has never stopped.

Walt Sullins

Walt was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He moved to Bend in 2005. Having a girlfriend whose life revolved around dance was the first step in peaking Walt’s interest.  He felt drawn to learn the art of break dancing which led to him taking hip hop, jazz, lyrical/contemporary, and ballet classes to improve his dance knowledge and technique. Walt has taught both Hip Hop and Break dancing and continues to enjoy taking classes as well as taking at numerous conventions.  He never tires of trying and learning new styles and techniques. Walt is thrilled to become part of the faculty at Gotta Dance along with his wife, Kelly.
